A dual voltage version of the popular 166i MMA Inverter. Operating from 110v
site supplies and 230v mains supplies so is ideal for workshop use and also
site work, where only 110v power tools can be used. With automatic input voltage
adjustment the machine will run from 230v when a 230v plug/supply is used and
110v when a 110v plug/supply is used (32 amp plug, 5.5Kva supply).
Weighs in at just 8 kilos and has an impressive Duty Cycle of 60% @ 160 Amps
full power and 100% @ 124 Amps - on both 230v AND 110v - so exceeds most of
the competitions figures comfortably! Hot-Start is built in & optimised
for all settings.
IP23 rated so is suitable for use outdoors.
Toshiba manufactured internal power components for reliability, mounted in
a rugged internal support frame to prevent damage caused by small drops.
Industrial 35-50mm Dinse panel sockets are fitted as standard to accept quality
leads (included).
The very cheapest Inverters on the market are throw-away when they fail, and
many IGBT based machines can be completely unecomical to repair, often requiring
full Mother-board replacement. The TEC-ARC units can be repaired economically
at component level, should a fault occur outside warranty, with a complete range
of machine spares held in stock and excellent technical after-sales back up.
The 166i Dual can also be used for basic scratch-start TIG welding with the
addition of a suitable TIG torch, gas regulator & Argon gas supply.

welding machines must be operated from power transformers with a minimum of
a 5 kVA rating. Standard tool transformers, typically 3 – 3.5 kVA, are
not up to the job and will not provide sufficient power to run a welding machine.
